Self Soothe

There are ways to regulate your nervous system when you are feeling stressed, anxious or nervous and self soothing is one of them.

You can do this standing up or sitting down.
Place your feet firmly on the ground.
Place your right hand onto your left shoulder.
Place your left hand onto your right shoulder.
Then start slowly but firmly stroking down your arms simultaneously.
While you are stroking down both arms breathe in with one stroke and breathe out with the next stroke.
Practice breathing into your throat, heart, stomach, hips as you keep your hands stroking down your arms.
