Moments Of Joy

How many moments of joy have you had recently?

Would you even realise if you had a moment of joy or would it be so fleeting,
you'd soon be distracted by the next worry or problem?

Do you make time and space in your day for a moment of joy?

Sometimes we can let life get the better of us and overwhelm can set in.

It means we are taking too much on and are usually trying to fit too many commitments into our lives.
It's easily done as our lives can go at a fast pace.

So when things start to feel too much for you or you are feeling stressed and unhappy,
give yourself some moments of joy.

Sounds simple right?

You can find moments of joy in anything you do.

Say you have a task at work or mounting house hold chores,
for 5 minutes a day only, make a choice as to whether you want to do them or not.

For 5 minutes only, if you don't want to do them, then leave them.

If you do want to do the tasks, find what joy it will bring you.

Maybe you want to leave the tasks completely for your 5 minutes of joy
and go for a 5 minute walk or a 5 minute cup of tea, or maybe
have a chat with a colleague or friend, for 5 minutes only.

If you feel 5 minutes of joy is too much to start with, start with 1 minute.

The idea is to train your brain and body to look for and feel joyful moments.

It works! I've used this method many a time.

Regularly finding moments of joy re wires your brain to look for things and tasks that make you feel good.

Starting off with small amounts of time makes this exercise very do able
and is a great way of calming your nervous system.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.
