One of the best moments of running The Skin Nourishing Cafe is when I get the hot towels out and place them on my guests faces.
You can see the instant sink into relaxation. Shoulder soften, they let out sighs of relief and forget about any worries and stresses of their day.
Then the questions begin. The most common question I get asked is
“Do Hot Towels Open Your Skin Pores?”
Even though they feel amazing the answer is NO.

What Are The Benefits To Hot And Cold Compresses To Your Skin?
The heat increases blood circulation towards the skin allowing oxygen and nutrients to move through dilated blood vessels to support the regrowth and repair of damaged tissue and allowing the skin to look plumper and rejuvenated.
The cold sends blood flow away from the skin and towards your essential organs. This is because the cold has constricted the blood vessels causing a slight stress effect on the skin creating a ‘workout for the building blocks of the skin including collagen and elastin.

Make Your Own Hot Towels At Home
Grab a good quality face cloth or face towel
Roll it up length ways
Soak it in warm to hot water and wring it out.
Place it in the microwave for one minute
BE CAREFUL use tongs when removing the hot towel as they may be VERY hot.
Unravel the towel and check the temperature
Place on your face and feel the benefits to your skin and relaxation.
