The Rose & St. Valentines Day
Through my research I’ve discovered that the Rose is linked to the ancient greek god of love, Eros. And did you know that Eros is an anagram for……ROSE!
I’ve learned something new today!
Roses were associated with St. Valentines Day from around the 17th Century as it became known that the flower was favoured by Venus the Roman God of love, beauty and fertility.
There are more stories and fables surrounding the red rose and Greek and Roman mythology. Mostly based around Eros, Aphrodite and Venus.
The red rose communicates love in full bloom, romance, affection, passion and beauty.
Chocolates are considered a natural aphrodisiac, hence being another top gifts to offer your love interest on St. Valentines Day.
